    The Big Brother Rules

Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) operates under a strict set of rules that housemates must follow during their stay in the house. These rules are designed to maintain order, protect the integrity of the game, and ensure the safety and fairness of the competition.

    Basic House Rules

No contact with the outside world

Housemates are completely cut off. No phones, internet, TV, newspapers, or communication with the outside world. Once you step into the BBNaija house, it鈥檚 full lockdown. The only “outside world” you鈥檙e allowed is Ebuka on Sundays and Biggie鈥檚 booming voice.

    Always wear microphones

Housemates must wear their microphones at all times, except when sleeping or showering, so Big Brother and the audience can hear them.

    No whispering or writing

Whispering, mouthing words, or writing to avoid being heard is strictly prohibited. If you can鈥檛 say it with your full chest, don’t say it at all.

    Speak English only

English is the official language of the house. Speaking in any other language may lead to punishment or disqualification. There鈥檚 always an exception for Pidgin English, though.

    Diary Room is sacred

Biggie calls, you answer. No housemate must be absent from a diary session when called. No excuses. The Diary Room is sacred. It鈥檚 where you cry, plot and tell Big Brother who鈥檚 annoying your spirit. But once you leave? Keep your Diary Room gist to yourself (unless permitted) or risk punishment.

    Prohibited Behaviours

    Violence or threats

Shouting? Fine. But the moment any form of physical violence, threat of violence, or intimidation happens, the outcome is an immediate disqualification.

    Sexual misconduct

Non-consensual sexual behaviour or any form of harassment is a serious violation and leads to disqualification.

    Defacing Big Brother Property

Destroying, hiding, or defacing property belonging to Big Brother can lead to sanctions or removal.

    Conspiracy

Plotting to rig nominations or forming secret alliances for unfair advantage is not allowed.

    Hate speech and discrimination

Racism, homophobia, tribalism, or any form of hate speech is grounds for punishment or disqualification.

    The Big Brother Game Rules

    No external influence on nominations

Housemates must not attempt to influence others鈥 nominations or form voting pacts. Big Brother is watching, and he doesn’t rate cunningness.

    Take tasks and challenges seriously

Tasks aren’t optional. You signed up to entertain us. That means do your tasks. Housemates must participate fully in assigned tasks, and winning or losing them can impact privileges or weekly shopping.

No sharing of prize money or bribes

Discussing or planning to share the prize money is against the rules.

    Big Brother鈥檚 Word Is Law

Above all, Big Brother is always watching and his word is final. Arguing with or disobeying can have serious consequences.

    Punishments

    Violations may lead to:

    • Strikes (3 strikes = disqualification)
    • Loss of privileges
    • Immediate eviction
    • Disqualification
